Friends of Duke Rescue is a foster-based nonprofit animal rescue here in Northern Vermont

We are a team of about ten people trying to spread education/awareness about animal rescue. We hope to be able to provide medical care, fostering, adoption and much more to animals in need; whether that means strays, abuse/neglect cases, rehoming situations or saving dogs from kill shelters in the south. Friends of Duke Rescue was established in 2022, and though we are early in our journey we are excited to have had a positive impact already.

Please contact us if you are interested in being a part of our mission in any capacity!

Wondering how you can help?

We would not be able to pursue our mission to help animals in need without the support we receive

“I adopted "Chispy" in February, 2023. She is a 7 year old Chiweenie. When I first met her, she was super submissive and helpless... didn't do anything on her own. But now! She barks at every intruder (visitor), and every bird, dog, you name it, who goes by the window. She lets you know who the boss is. She has gotten a new name, "Chibi", which means "tiny" in Japanese. But her personality is nothing but tiny! She respects her cat sister, Joy, loves to go for walks and hang out with other dogs. She also loves to bask in the sun!!! I love this little crazy dog!”
